Beginning in 2011, NITCO expanded beyond its established material handling business by entering the construction equipment market through a partnership with JCB. What started as a small operation with limited construction industry presence operated under the Northland JCB name while remaining part of the NITCO organization. Over the following years, the company invested in specialized personnel, expertise, and customer support capabilities, steadily growing its construction equipment division into a recognized and successful JCB dealership serving customers throughout the region.
A pivotal milestone occurred when Alta Equipment acquired NITCO and its Northland JCB operation. Building on the strong foundation already established, Alta further invested in the business by developing dedicated resources, facilities, inventory, service capabilities, and support structures specifically tailored to the construction equipment market. Backed by Alta Equipment’s extensive scale and resources, the organization evolved into the full-service construction equipment operation that continues to support JCB customers today. Now operating as Alta JCB, the business combines the entrepreneurial beginnings of Northland JCB with the strength, capabilities, and reach of one of the nation’s largest equipment dealer organizations.
